Day 3 Love Language

Hello from Antiqua!

I only have a few minutes but I want to update you on how yesterday went with the kids. Look forward to hearing from Nicole about our New Years mini vaca in Antigua.

Yesterday went really well. We were excited to see some new faces emerge from the bus this time. As we did the first day, we spent time playing sports with the kids. The girls also got their nails painted :-). You know, it's so cool to observe and experience the things tha are universal; there are many more than I once thought. Spending time with a different culture with people who speak a different language necesitates looking for common ground outside of language. And oh, how ignorant to think there is none. It has been such a blessing to relate to these people. It makes me think of the languages of love. Some value physical touch, some gifts. Others value quality time while some value service. It is very possible to discover the love language of the peoples without having a common spoken language. Doing so requires work, observation and commitment, all things that should accompany any relationship. Lord. may we love well. The kids seemed to have a blast yesterday. We also got to watch a Jesus movie with them in Spanish where they were able to hear the gospel.

I am so happy to announce that Matt is feeling much better. Thank you for your prayers! We missed having him around (shh, don't tell).

We have had a very relaxing New Years day. I can't for Nicole to tell you about it.

Until then, we covet your prayers. Please pray...
  • Our team would stay healthy and have lots of energy. Tomorrow we are headed out to lake Atitland where we will be doing "Happy Feet" and Vacation Bible School with the children. Pray our moods would remain even and high, that we would love each other well. Pray against irritation, jealousy, bitterness, etc, anything that would hinder us as a team. And really, pray that that wouldn't be difficult to do. Pray that we would be unified and unannoyed with one another so that we would be able to focus all our "growing energy" on the people here.
  • For good rest tonight and a safe trip to the Atitland region.
  • Pray we would continue to have opportunities to show the people here and each other love.
  • Also pray that we would have specific, fruitful conversationns with the people here, that we would be able to share the Gospel story.
Until next time, love!

Michelle

I'm so proud of all of you!!! Greeting from Liberia, my Guatemala friends!

Isn't it so cool that God is doing work in all these different places and cultures at the same time. I'm just loving this. Michelle, I think its cool that you're talking about love language. We were having a similar conversion in Liberia just yesterday.

I pray that God would continue to protect you, and overflow out of you all the time!

LOVE! The Liberia Team
